Happy Canada Day!

Canada is 147 years old today. The birth of Canada, or as we call it Confederation, was in 1867

If you're a Canadian here or anywhere around the world you're hopefully celebrating Canada Day our country's birth, the Canadian way, with barbecues, picnics, and fireworks, or maybe spending some quality time with family and friends

Canada was known officially as the Dominion of Canada, so many Canadians may still refer to July 1st as Dominion Day. That's what we used to call Canada Day.

Canada is 147 years old today. The birth of Canada or as we call it Confederation, was in 1867, leaders from the colonies of Upper Canada (now Ontario), Lower Canada (Quebec), Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, decided to form one country, Canada.

The document that they signed, the British North America Act, would essentially be Canada's constitution until 1982.  So July 1 is Canada's Day
