Ethiopian B787 Dreamliner is the first flight to touch down in Toronto.

TORONTO — Ethiopian Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Africa, landed its first Dreamliner into Toronto. After inaugurated its maiden flight to Toronto on July 16, 2012, the only direct flight between Toronto and Africa with twice-weekly services.  Now,

Ethiopian Airlines, Dreamliner is the first B787 aircraft to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport. passengers on the Addis Ababa to Toronto route were able to experience the ultimate on-board comfort with less noise, biggest windows in the sky, higher ceiling, higher humidity and unique lighting on-board the ultra-modern B787 Dreamliner.

"As the only direct flight between Toronto and Africa, this route has created critical air connectivity between Africa and Canada. The flights have enabled Toronto to be connected to Ethiopian extensive network in Africa, via its Addis Ababa hub, including to cities such as Johannesburg, Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kigali, Lusaka, Bujumbura, Seychelles, Douala, Kinshasa, and Harare.

Similarly, passengers traveling from cities in North America such as Montréal, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Boston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and San Francisco have been able to enjoy convenient connections, via Toronto, to Africa using fellow Star member carrier, Air Canada, while also earning and redeeming miles on both airlines.

Ethiopian hopes to obtain permission for additional weekly frequencies on its Addis Ababa-Toronto route so as to better serve and offer more options to the travelling public.
